The City of Pelham, a Better Hometown Community, is located on the crossroads of US Highway 19 and Georgia Hwy. 93. Pelham’s Wildlife Festival, held on the first Saturday in October, attracts over 12,000 visitors annually. It is also home to the Pelham Jamboree held every Saturday night beginning at 6:30 p.m. Other events such as a “Slice of Summer” and the Pelham Wildlife Art Auction complete the warm community feel present in Pelham. Pelham, Georgia is centrally located between Thomasville and Albany. Pelham, named for Major Pelham of Civil War renown, has a grand history as a commercial epicenter of the Southwest Georgia agricultural community. During its heyday the Hand Trading Company attracted shoppers throughout Southwestern Georgia. The building was built in 1916 by J. L. Hand the father of Virginia Hand Callaway of Callaway Gardens fame. This beautiful building has been well maintained and is currently being restored.

"Prayers From Pelham," a comedy about small town life was shot in October 2003 on location in Pelham. Aaron returns to his hometown to find his ailing Aunt Enid has only a few days left. His problems escalate when the town busybody spreads the word that Enid will take prayers straight to God for anyone who asks. As the house fills with people anxious for Enid’s service, Aaron is torn between controlling the situation and dealing with the loss of his Aunt.

In this charmingly innocent comedy, we see that things rarely happen the way we set out and usually it's for the best.“We're poking fun at the South,” Ruckus Skye said. “At the same time, there's an underlying love for the South.” The movie was a result of a collaboration between Ruckus Skye, Lane Skye, and Spencer Adams.
