Volunteer Fire Department
- Mitchell County Fire-Rescue has 22 stations throughout the County.
- We have 92 citizen volunteers and 7 inmate firefighters.
- Mitchell County Fire responds to over 100 calls per month for medical, brush fires, house fires, vehicle accidents, rescue, etc.
- We train locals and certify new volunteers for certification through the state. We are always looking for volunteers for each area.
