Public Works

Mitchell County Public Works is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all county roads, right of ways, and bridges.  Public Works also performs driveway installations and repairs as well as maintenance of all signage for county roads.
 
We now have Reflective 911 Address Yard Signs available to the Public for $20.00.  Please call 336-2048 to order.

Driveway Permits must be obtained from the Zoning Department before purchasing the driveway pipe at Public Works.

*Payments may be made in person with cash, check, or money order only.

After Hours Emergencies:

• To report any low hanging limbs, debris, or trees/limbs in the roadway in which the road remains passable, call (229) 336-2007.
• To report any emergency road hazards or trees/limbs in the roadway which make the road IMPASSABLE, call 911.
• Driveway Applications require a payment to be made for the pipe used for the installation.  This payment is made in person either at Public Works or the Commissioner’s Office.  The payment must be made before the installation occurs.
